Why are lights essential for our teams
As many of you know, Fruitdale High School's baseball/softball teams have been facing an ongoing challenge: the lack of lighting on our baseball/softball field. This issue goes beyond mere inconvenience; it directly affects our students' ability to participate in evening games, forcing our teams to forfeit matches and lose valuable opportunities to compete.
Field lighting will enable us to host games in the evenings to avoid the summer heat and hold tournaments to attract visiting teams and promote youth and adult recreational opportunities.
Benefits of Field Lighting
The project will benefit not only our students, but also residents of Fruitdale and surrounding communities including Vinegar Bend, Yellow Pine, Deer Park, Epworth, and Charity Chapel. Installation of field lighting will expand access, improve safety, and allow for increased recreational and competitive play.
The project expands recreational access, supports school athletics, and creates opportunities for regional economic activity.
